Two prearranged on-island medical appointment escorts each month, up to two hours each, in addition to regular visits.

Additional in-home support
Health Care Assistant support at home.
Our Health Care Assistant can help with personal routines, bathing and dressing, light meal preparation, and getting ready for appointments. This practical support can make everyday life at home more comfortable while helping you maintain your independence.
Visits are coordinated with your nurse and care plan, and billed separately at $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Scheduling, travel charges and any applicable tax are confirmed before booking.
Ask about HCA supportServices are subject to an initial fit assessment and written agreement. Additional care and off-island appointment support are arranged separately. Unused visits and appointment support do not roll over.

I’m Matthew, a Registered Nurse based on Salt Spring Island, with a clinical background in emergency nursing and acute care.
My approach is rooted in the belief that healthcare should feel personal, thoughtful and deeply human. I look beyond diagnoses and individual appointments to understand the whole person and the life they want to continue living.
Through regular contact and careful coordination, I help clients understand their health, navigate decisions and stay connected with the right supports.
Whole-person nursing brings physical, emotional, social and personal priorities together while remaining grounded in nursing standards and collaboration with your healthcare team.
Finding the right fit
Support for living independently.
This service may suit you if you are managing several health conditions, navigating a return home after hospital care, or looking for more continuity and help coordinating healthcare.
The membership focuses on nursing oversight and health management. Optional HCA visits add practical support at home. Daily personal care as the primary need, continuous supervision and emergency response call for other arrangements.
Do I need a family doctor?
No. Clients without a family physician or nurse practitioner may be considered. Support includes navigating available services and connecting with appropriate providers. Nursing care does not replace a prescriber.
What are the service hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding statutory holidays. The service guide sets a one-business-hour acknowledgement and a two-business-hour clinical response for calls and secure messages. After-hours messages are treated as received on the next business day.
Can my family be involved?
Yes, with your consent. Together we identify who can receive updates and what information you want shared. Your preferences and autonomy guide the relationship.
What about off-island appointments?
Prearranged off-island clinical appointment advocacy is subject to availability, at $100 per hour with an $800 maximum for a service day of up to 12 hours. Ferry fares, parking and other direct expenses are additional.
Is this an emergency or 24-hour service?
No. There is no continuous monitoring, emergency dispatch or guaranteed after-hours care. Call 911 for an emergency. We establish clear escalation and continuity arrangements as part of your care plan.
